MTM Construction have recently started work on site for the extension to the National Hyperbaric Centre (NHC) located within Grampian Health Authorities Foresterhill complex in Aberdeen.
The works will see a section of the existing building stripped back to its steel structure. Works will then begin on erecting the steel structure for the new extension. A new highly insulated cladding will then be applied to the walls and roof of the structure. The extended NHC facility is to accommodate the new-generation 24-Man Self Propelled Hyperbaric Lifeboats (SPHL) in the UK & Norwegian sectors of the North Sea. The NHC is owned and operated by JFD which is part of the James Fisher & Sons Plc – a British provider of Marine Engineering Services.
Throughout construction WCP will be fulfilling the role of contract administrator as well as being the Principal Designer under the CDM 2015 regulations. The design team also includes Scott Robertson Associates as Quantity Surveyors and Ramsay & Chalmers Consulting Structural & Civil Engineers.Back to News
